I really, really enjoyed this book — and honestly, it came as such a lovely surprise! If you’d asked me before picking it up, I would have definitely said I’ve never been much of a cosy romance girl. It’s just never felt like quite the right fit for my usual reading tastes. But after reading Dessert, Flirt, Repeat, I think that is all about to change! This story was amazing in every way, and it has me seriously considering expanding my library to include plenty more cosy romances in the future.
Let me tell you a little more about what makes it so special.
The story follows Becca, the proud owner of Sweet Cheeks ice cream shop — a business she loves more than anything. Things are going well until she hits a massive wall: her ex-boyfriend steals all of her money, leaving her in a terrible position and putting everything she’s worked so hard for at risk. Just when it feels like there’s no way out, one rather drunken DM later changes everything. She ends up connecting with Gage Grant — the charming, TikTok-famous “sexy chef” everyone is talking about — and somehow convinces him to help her make her own videos to promote her shop and bring in new customers.
From that point on, the story just gets better and better. The chemistry between Becca and Gage is absolutely palpable — you can feel it radiating off the pages! They bounce off each other perfectly, in more ways than one. Their banter is sharp, fun, and feels completely natural, making their growing relationship feel genuine and easy to root for.
It’s such a kick-up-your-feet kind of book — exactly the kind of story you want to curl up with after a long day. It’s a smooth read with a really nice, quick pace that keeps you turning pages without feeling rushed. There’s such a great balance of everything: it has plenty of funny moments that will make you laugh out loud, some deeper emotional moments that feel heartfelt and real, and more than a few scenes that will make you squeal really loud with happiness!
Every aspect of this book felt well thought out and enjoyable. The characters are likeable, the setting is warm and inviting, and the romance feels satisfying without being over-the-top. It’s the perfect comfort read — sweet, uplifting, and just what you need when you want something that feels good.
Dessert, Flirt, Repeat has completely won me over. It proves that sometimes stepping outside your usual reading comfort zone can lead to the best discoveries. I will definitely be picking up more cosy contemporary romances in the future, and I’d highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a fun, charming, and thoroughly enjoyable story.
