I don’t say this lightly — I absolutely ate this book up. From the moment I picked it up, it was such an incredible reading experience, and I honestly couldn’t get enough. If you’re looking for a story that pulls you in and refuses to let go, this is exactly it.
One of the first things that stood out was the pace. It’s wonderfully fast‑paced but never feels rushed or messy. Every chapter moves the story forward, and there isn’t a single dull moment or unnecessary detour. The writing style is sharp, immersive, and incredibly engaging — it kept me captivated from the very first page all the way to the final line.
What makes this book truly shine, though, is how well‑crafted both the plot and the characters are. The worldbuilding feels rich and layered without being overwhelming, and the story unfolds in a way that makes you want to know more with every turn.
But let’s talk about the characters, because they are unforgettable. Duna is the epitome of female power and independence. She’s not written as a “perfect hero” — she feels real, strong, and unapologetically herself. The way she faces challenges, stands her ground, and navigates the world around her is genuinely inspiring. She’s exactly the kind of lead you root for wholeheartedly.
And then there’s Cathel… let’s just say he has officially earned his place as another “shadow daddy” on my roster of favorite fictional characters. Mysterious, complex, and layered, he brings just the right amount of tension and intrigue to the story. The dynamic between him and Duna is electric, and their interactions feel natural and well‑developed.
It’s clear this is just the start of something bigger, and I have zero doubts — I will definitely be carrying on with this series as soon as I can get my hands on the next book. The Snows of Nissa delivers everything I want from a fantasy read: heart, action, great writing, and characters that stay with you long after you finish.
