πŸ“š THIS OR THAT: Book Lover Edition! πŸ€”βœ¨

This is one of my favourite kinds of posts β€” simple, fun, and I love seeing how everyone answers! I’ve shared my choices, now it’s your turn to pick your side and tell me why in the comments! πŸ‘‡

πŸ“– THE QUESTIONS:

1. Standalone books OR Long book series?

I love a good series! I love getting invested with the characters and joining them on their journeys. The emotional attachment is very real when you grow along with the characters in the book! But it also makes it that much harder to say goodbye when it’s finished.

2. Paperback OR Hardback?

99% of my book shelves are paperback with only a handful of hard back books. I find them easier to handle even though it hurts my heart if I accidentally crack a spine! I do love a good hardback but I get frustrated with the loose covers that are on some hardbacks. So paperbacks are always a win with me.

3. Happy endings OR Bittersweet endings?

I love happy endings but im also here for the heartbreaking ones too. A happy ending is always a nice way to finish a great book, knowing that all the troubles and trials the characters faced was worth it in the end but sometimes it’s also nice to read a book where the ending is not as you hoped it would be. Saying that, I do love a good cliffhanger (as long as it’s not devastating – REBECCA YARROS!!).

4. Fantasy worlds OR Real-life settings?

I am definitely a fantasy girlie through and through. There is nothing more satisfying than getting lost in a world that is full of imagination and a world that makes me use my own imagination too. Books are my escape from the real world.

5. Reading in bed OR Reading on the sofa?

Reading in bed is definitely a favourite for me. Getting the most cosy set up with my blankets and pillows, get my laptop set up with some calming music (loving rain sounds at the moment). It just makes me feel able to shut the world out and just exist in my own safe space.

6. New releases OR Old classics?

I have to say that I haven’t read many old classic books. Although I am making it a goal this year to read at least one. So I would have to say the new releases are my go to right now.

7. E-book OR Physical book?

Now this one is difficult. I use one just as much as the other. I’d say I lean more towards my kindle purely for convenience in that it’s thin and easy to just pop in my bag and go but sometimes I love being able to actually physically turn the pages of the book I’m reading and really immerse myself in it.

8. Fast-paced action OR Slow-burn story?

This all depends on what mood I’m in. Sometimes if I’m in a reading slump, I prefer a fast paced book to get me out of it. But I also do love a good slow burn, getting to know the characters on a deeper level and just building up that tension.

9. Borrowed books OR Bought books?

Definitely prefer buying my own books. I love seeing them on my shelf and knowing I own them. Especially if they are special editions or have sprayed edges! I treat my books like they are precious jewels in my treasure trove.

10. Reading one book at a time OR Juggling multiple books?

I am not a girl who is able to read multiple books at a time. I have to read one at a time or it gets muddled in my head. Not only that, I like to be able to reflect on what it is I’m reading and take my time to get to know the characters. I personally feel reading more than one book at a time means that it’s rushed through just so you are able to finish them.
