Reading is amazing.. but let’s be honest, it comes with its own set of very specific problems.
Do any of the below sound familiar? 😅
📚 When you’re reading and someone interrupts you to show you something on their phone or ask you a pointless question. Do they not see I’m BUSY?? My physical being might be in the room but my head is certainly in whichever world I’m currently reading about! It will take a solid 5 minutes before I can come back into the room.
📚 Running out of space on your bookshelf is every readers worst nightmare. You organise, you stack, you double stack, you cover every available shelf space and floor space and STILL there’s not enough room! But.. you still buy more. It’s never ending cycle!
📚 Finishing a book you loved. The feeling you get when you finish an amazing book is unlike no other. You get the euphoria of reading something so brilliant to then come crashing down because it’s the end. It feels like you’ve lost a piece of your soul because there’s no more left to read. You miss the characters like they are old friends that moved away.
📚 Trying to explain the plot to a non-reader. You sound like you’re speaking another language when you’re trying to explain what is happening in the book you are reading. They look at you like you’re talking gibberish.
📚 Trying not to spoil things. This one is for my book besties where one of you is a fast reader and one of you is a slow reader. It’s a struggle to keep your lips sealed when you know what’s going to happen before your bestie has read it! We all know that feeling of wanting to vent or kick your feet and giggle and share that feeling with someone else!
Did I miss any? Let me know what you find a struggle being a reader!
Love & pages,
Jade 💛
